Complying with Employment Laws and Obligations During the COVID Era

As we near the end of 2020, many employees have returned to the workplace and employers are tasked with navigating the “new normal.” Despite best efforts to maintain a healthy workplace, employers are encountering various employment and HR issues related to COVID-19. In this program, Andrew P. Yacyshyn, Esq., and Jason B. Klimpl, Esq. employment attorneys at Tannenbaum Helpern Syracuse & Hirschtritt LLP, will discuss employer obligations regarding:

  • providing COVID-19-related accommodations to employees, such as for employees with underlying medical conditions, employees who are older, and employees with childcare needs;

  • new leaves of absence laws, such as the recently effective New York State Paid Sick Leave Law; and

  • workplace safety requirements, including complying with the New York State office reopening guidelines and directives.
